Welcome to DC!

Join thousands of students from across the country from May 6th to May 10th in our country's capital to compete, develop your skills, and build new relationships as a member of Business Professionals of America! The National Leadership Conference is the result of your dedication and skills during the BPA year, from competing to serving.

The Workplace Skills Assessment Program is the primary program of the BPA year. Members from across the United States compete in over 85 events in 5 categories. These assessments show the member's skill in a particular field of study, and placing in an event can earn the student large scholarships to many colleges, along with being able to put their placement as proof of skill on their resume. Several national events also include a certification exam in the event, providing another way for students to show their skills and earn recognition.

The Business Professionals of America Torch Awards Program promotes professionalism and leadership with BPA members. There are 7 categories - Leadership; Service; Cooperation; Knowledge; Friendship; Love, Hope, Faith; and Patriotism. This program is open to all members.

Students who earn 70 points in each category and are approved by the national reviewers will be invited to the NLC to recieve recognition, including a pin and certificate. If rejected, the student and chapter advisor can continue to work on the resume until the deadline.
